LLT Announces Annual WBCA Tradition

Comedy Jam for George

Laredo Little Theatre officially announced the lineup of a long-time favorite WBCA event, Comedy Jam for George. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of this hysterical show. The highly popular event is scheduled for Friday, February 9th with two shows, at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.  LLT invites the community to join them at what is sure to be an amusing experience.

Headlining the event is a 16-year comedy veteran – Mario “Super Star” Salazar with featured Comics Charles Allen and Jay Lafar. The non-stop laugh fest will once again be hosted by Laredo native Ponchi Herrera.

Headliner Mario Salazar has toured and performed for audiences around the country shedding a humorous light on the everyday experience and the quirks of life on the Texas/Mexican border.

Following his performance on Comedy Central Jeff Ross roasts the Border, Mario also became an internet sensation following his appearances as part of the NFL Draft. Performances with entertainers such as Sinbad, Steve Treviño, Ice Cube, and Cypress Hill have only added more momentum to Mario Salazar's fan base.

The hilarious, high energy and we’ll traveled comedian shares anecdotes relating to his own life, military career, and his experiences as a Dog Dad, all which he delivers with a quick wit and sharp tongue. Always smiling and energetic, Salazar pokes a bit of fun but takes it all in stride, sharing huge laughs with his audiences.

All shows will be at the Laredo Little Theatre at 4802 Thomas Avenue.

$30 pre-sale tickets for Comedy Jam for George are on sale at Laredo Paint & Decorating, located at 5919 San Dario Avenue, during their normal business hours and online at laredolittletheatre.org

“People look forward to this event every year; it always adds lots of laughter and camaraderie to the WBCA celebration.  We’re excited to be celebrating 20 years of crazy on stage antics. The public is invited to support the arts and simultaneously enjoy great comedy and the company of good friends.” said Board Member and Publicity Officer A.B. Barrera.

The Laredo Little Theatre’s Mission Statement is to preserve, develop and promote the arts and culture in Laredo and the surrounding communities.
